VDC is a business incubator of UMass Boston, enabling the most promising entrepreneurial talent from around the world, whatever their university, to move or remain in Boston after graduation to realize their dreams. Besides supporting company founders, VDC loves helping UMass Boston's entrepreneurial students.
One of the VDC's signature student programs is StEP, founded by Dan Phillips. He has been an executive in five technology growth companies over a 30+ year period. His latest startup, CloudHealth Technologies, is one of the fastest growing technology startups in Boston today and has been acquired by VMware. StEP offers scholarship opportunities to UMass Boston students. And through its vast network of mentors, StEP also helps students to identify internship opportunities with Boston's fast growing technology companies, develop the skills required, apply for positions, and guides them through the interview process, continuing to mentor through graduation and first job.
